Annual SAFETY FAIR in the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library
Date: Saturday, May 02, 2015 (Event Views: 3,209)

On Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 10:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library offers its EIGHTH annual safety fair. The SAFETY FAIR offers FREE bike helmets to children, bike helmet fitting, child identification kits, safety information, safety crafts, bike riding rodeo, and lots of FUN!

The BRISTOL ELKS are donating free bicycle helmets to be given to the first children who come to the SAFETY FAIR. Members of the Bristol Elks will be present to help fit bike helmets and distribute bike safety information! If your child is NOT one of the first children, please bring a bike helmet from home to have it fitted properly. IN ADDITION TO THE HELMET DONATION AND FITTING, the BRISTOL ELKS and TRAFFIC DIVISION OF THE BRISTOL POLICE DEPARTMENT ARE SPONSORING A RIDING RODEO. KIDS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING THEIR BIKES TO RIDE THROUGH A ROAD TRACK. The riding rodeo helps kids learn about safe bike riding habits. ALL KIDS WHO BRING A BIKE AND RIDE RECEIVE A SPECIAL PRIZE!

CTCHIP is a comprehensive child identification program designed to give families a measure of protection against the ever increasing problem of missing children. The program consists of four major components: a brief videotaped interview, a digital still photograph, fingerprinting, and dental bite impression. Together, these four measures provide a most powerful identification and recovery tool.

The Children’s Department is fortunate to have very generous sponsors: the Bristol Elks and CTCHIP. We thank you for helping the library keep children safe during the bike riding season.
For more information about the EIGHTH ANNUAL SAFETY FAIR please call the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library 860-584-7787 ext. 2021

Relay for Life
Date: Saturday, May 16, 2015 Thru Date: Sunday, May 17, 2015 (Event Views: 3,466)

I know too many people whose lives have been touched by cancer. I can't sit still and not take action against this disease that has hurt so many. That's why I'm participating in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® movement.

Relay For Life is my opportunity to celebrate loved ones who have won their battle against cancer, remember those no longer with us, and fight back against this disease that robs so many of so much.

More than just walking the track, I'm fundraising! Because of the donations I collect, more people in more communities:
•Have the information and tools they need to help reduce their risk of getting cancer or find the disease early, when it's easiest to treat
•Have a place to turn for help 24/7
•Benefit from the progress being made toward finding cancer's causes and cures
•Get access to lifesaving screenings and treatment

Please join me in fighting cancer and consider supporting my fundraising efforts by making a donation. The links at the bottom of this email makes it so simple! Dollars raised bring us one step closer to a world with less cancer and more birthdays, a world where not another life is lost to the disease.

Thank you so much for your support. Together, we will finish the fight!
