Kids' Carnival at the Carousel Museum  (395,571 Views)

The New England Carousel Museum in Bristol, Connecticut is hosting a Kids’ Carnival on Sunday, October 21 from 12 pm to 4 pm. The event is FREE for children and $6.00 for adults.

This one-of-a-kind day of fun for children will feature carousel rides, magic shows, face painting, arts and crafts, carnival games, prizes, balloon twisting, artist demonstrations, and kid friendly tours.

Visit us for a whimsical day of fun for the whole family! This is a day for wonderful family photos and memories to last a lifetime! The colorful displays of the Museum, the festive rainbow of games, balloons, various carousel animals, circus memorabilia, and magic will enchant the child in everyone!

49th Annual Bristol Mum-A-Thon 8K Road Race and Monster Mile  (326,856 Views)

49th Annual Bristol Mum-A-Thon 8K Road Race and Monster Mile

October 21 @ 8:45 am - 12:00 pm

This is a 2018 USA Track & Field Sanctioned event.

Come run our 8K race course. It has flats, rollers and a down hill finish. This course is well marked, faces traffic and most of it can be run on sidewalks if you choose. See our Facebook page for the race map. New this year is the “Monster Mile” and a “Trunk or Treat” Both running events begin and ends at St. Paul Catholic High School 1001 Stafford Ave. Bristol CT.

Our Halloween themed event encourages runners and participants of all ages to dress up as your favorite Character, super hero or heroine!
By far, our race shirt is the most popular in Connecticut and it even glows in the dark! You must preregister to get one. Preregistration is also less expensive than race day registration.

ENTRY FEES: Trunk or Treat $5.00 or free to all registered participants.
8K: $25.00 Pre-Reg $30.00 Race Day
Monster Mile: $15.00 Pre-Reg – $20.00 Race Day Under 4 FREE
First 200 runners will receive runner race bags with lots of cool swag. You love this race!

Special Awards:
Best Halloween Costume for Adult Male, Adult Female, and Child, Male & Female.
Also 1st Bristol resident to cross finish line

Come enjoy a run or a walk with plenty of goodies after the race!

Standard 10 year age grouping awards are in effect for the 8K race only.
13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Winner is these categories receive trophies. If you are one of the top three male and female 8K winners, you’ll leave with one of the baddest looking plaques, is a replica of our race mummy and it too glows in the dark!

Brand new this year is a cash prize purse. $150.00, $100.00 and $50.00 to the top 3 male and top three female finishers.

Post Race party, Live DJ, food and drinks.
2018 Raffle: Must be present to win.
Raffle and awards ceremony will be approximately 30 minutes after last 8K finisher crosses the finish line

Interact with sponsors/exhibitors/speakers and practitioners to learn more about the resources that are available to help promote healthy living and a healthy lifestyle, both by visiting the booths and by participating in the scheduled events. Throughout the day speakers will be addressing multiple topics.

Attendees will get a program and a “Passport to Health & Wellness” with prizes for checking out our HCC Members.

Early Bird Attendees $5 p/p (N/C for Children under 5 years old)

At the Door: $8 p/p (Children 5 years old-12 years old $3 p/p)

Proceeds will be donated to the CT Children’s Medical Center and Hartford Hospital Cancer Center, Angie’s Spa fund (http://www.angiesspa.org/)

All funds will be used directly for patient care and will be matched to the maximum allowed by the grants for each organization.
