Mantels for the Season will run from Friday, November 15 through Sunday, December 15, 2019.

Mantels in the museum’s 1801 house and adjoining galleries will be festooned with seasonal displays created by local businesses and community members. "This event provides an opportunity for our clocks and watches to become the focal point and inspiration for each display,” states Patti Philippon, the museum’s Executive Director. "There was such a positive response to the innovative designs created for last year's inaugural event, that we extended the timing this year so more of our visitors can enjoy the beautiful mantelscapes."

Participants include Pier 1, The Artificial Flower Shop, Wojtusik Nursery & Garden Center, The Inside Story, Modifica Interiors, Kim Ciccarello & Catherine Hoerle, and Broadview Manor. The event is sponsored by Bristol Health and Liberty Bank.

Interfaith Thanksgiving Service   (77,677 Views)

Interfaith Thanksgiving Service
November 27 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Members of the Bristol Area Association of Ministry and the Bristol Interfaith Coalition invite the greater Bristol community to come together on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Saint Joseph’s Church for the annual Interfaith Thanksgiving service.
This tradition which has been growing in participation allows people of all faiths in Bristol to celebrate our blessings together. The interfaith group planning the event reminds us that, “we all share the same neighborhoods, parks and schools. We are all grateful for our blessings of family and friends and for food and shelter for those of us fortunate enough to have them. On Thanksgiving, let us be inclusive in our prayerful gratitude as we join together and celebrate how much we share.”
The service will include prayers and music from many different traditions and multiple languages. All are welcome and are invited to pray and offer thanks. Music will be provided by a combined adult choir, accompanied by instrumentalists. A combined hand bell choir and a combined children’s choir will also perform.
Those who are able to are asked to help our community members in need through bringing nonperishable food items for the Zion Lutheran Meals for our Neighbors and/or financial donations for the St. Vincent De Paul Shelter.
Representatives from Jewish, Protestant, Catholic, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Baha’i communities will co-lead the service. Native American traditions will be honored as well. This year’s ceremony will be kept to less than hour with a communal dessert buffet afterwards.
